I want to start with an old saying; “heaven is under the feet of mothers”. There is no doubt that everyone has a mother and mothers exert never-ending efforts to upbringing their children. Throughout history, people had celebrated various goddesses; for instance, ancient Romans celebrated “Cybele”, the Great Mother, ancient Egyptians celebrated “Isis”, the mother of the pharaohs, and Greeks celebrated “Rhea”, mother of the Gods. In the beginning of 17th century, celebrating real mothers on the Mothering Day became a tradition in England. The concept of Mother’s Day today is relatively new and goes back to 1870 when an American woman named Julia Howe issued a proclamation on this subject. After various arguments, the 2nd Sunday in May was announced as Mother’s Day in the U.S. of America in 1914, and many other countries announced Mother’s Day following United States.
Mother’s Day is one of the important special days of the year if not the most. Younger or elder, all family members celebrate their mothers and grandmothers, present her/hers cakes, gifts and cards. I’m very happy to see that mom is still keeping my very first gift card which I carefully designed and produced when I was at the kindergarten. Mothers day gift baskets are the best presents given to mothers. They are very popular and unique gift solutions and companies engaged in such work prepare and roll out new and more different gift baskets every year. There are many varieties of gift baskets at all price levels suiting to all budgets, however gift baskets consist of tropical fruits, food, chocolates and herbal teas are more popular for mothers’ days. There are so many options of the fruits for the mothers. For my opinion, those mothers day gift baskets consist of cookies, nuts, jams and other cholesterol containing foodstuff are not very suitable for mothers because these foodstuff are not healthy for mothers over middle ages. You need to care your mother’s health condition always.
